EHA Clinical research Grants 2006

EHA Clinical Research Grants
These grants have been established to promote clinical research in patients with hematological diseases, e.g. to support logistics of translational research, phase I, II or III clinical trials, support of research nurses, data-managers, etc. They are not intended for primarily laboratory research projects. Two grants will be awarded and they provide financial support for salaries, supplies, equipment and travel necessary for the project.
FUNDING
- Each grant is for a two-year period, starting in January 1, 2007
- Recipient will receive a total of EUR 15.000 per annum
- Grant funds will be provided in two annual portions and be transferred to the host institution.
GUIDELINES FOR EHA CLINICAL RESEARCH GRANTS
- Applicants must be an MD
- Applicants must be a member of EHA from at least one month before application
- Applicants can be a hematologist-in-training or an established hematologist
- Applicants must not be older than 38 years at the time of application
- Applicants should be working in a clinical hematology department
- The primary preceptor must be the department head and he/she must assume responsibility and provide guidance for the program.
REPORTING
- An interim report highlighting the project’s progress and summarizing the use of the funds in the first year is required at the end of the first year
- A final report highlighting the project’s results and summarizing the use of the funds in the second year is required at the end of the second year of the grant period
- The recipient is required to respond to the Association’s request for information on their career progress following the active grant
- Recipients are responsible for submitting their research findings for presentation at the Annual EHA Congress within two years following the ending of the grant period
- Recipients are also strongly encouraged to submit a paper to Haematologica/The Hematology Journal; the official Journal of the Association
- All scientific publications, oral presentations, press releases or other information emanating from the project financed by the Fellowships & Grants Program must include the following statement: “This research was funded partly by the Grant (number or code) awarded by the European Hematology Association”.
