Human Resources Manager

The European Hematology Association (EHA) is a non-profit organization located in The Hague, The Netherlands, which serves medical professionals, researchers, and scientists with an active interest in hematology. We are proud to be the largest European-based organization connecting hematologists worldwide to support career development and research, harmonize hematology education, and advocate for hematologists and hematology. EHA is governed by the EHA Board and supported in its activities by various committees. An international team of 40 staff members (Executive Office) work in a dynamic, results-driven, and open environment and take pride in serving the association in an efficient manner.

EHA is looking for an experienced Human Resources Manager, supporting the Head of Operations  and the Management Team. You will be responsible for all human resource tasks under supervision of the Head of Operations. We are looking for you if you have intrinsic interest or experience in working for a healthcare/non-profit sector, in a demanding and highly evolving field, and if you are able to support us with the development and roll out of processes and procedures to ensure the continuous growth of EHA, and to nurture and grow a positive culture in a mission-driven, diverse, international organization.

 

Human Resource Manager (16-24 hours)

Who are we looking for?

A strong professional to:

  • Advise the Head of Operations , Management Team, Executive Director and the EHA (Executive) Board to ensure our culture, policies, and practices align with EHA’s vision, mission, and core values
  • Draft, implement, and keep HR strategy up to date
  • Provide dedicated guidance and coaching to managers and employees with a specific focus on employee support, coaching, performance, and career development
  • Provide advice and counsel to managers and employees to ensure consistent application of policies, procedures, and practices to promote an equitable work environment
  • Be custodian of relevant legislative changes relating to employment and benefits
  • Oversee and support managers to implement a performance management system that promotes ongoing feedback and drives high performance
  • Manage and coordinate the recruitment and selection process including drafting job profiles, sourcing candidates, holding interviews, and onboarding
  • Conduct and analyse exit interviews
  • Help and/or guide employees with (performance) problems

Your knowledge and experience

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in human resources, or related field
  • At least 3-5 years’ experience as (associate) human resources manager
  • Skilled in Microsoft Excel, and related MS programs
  • Excellent English language skills
  • Proficient analytical skills
  • Excellent knowledge of the Dutch (and European) HR systems and labour laws and regulation
  • Ability to plan, prioritize, manage, and execute multiple projects simultaneously
  • An effective team player with excellent interpersonal skills
  • An understanding of the wider context whilst paying attention to finer details
