TAILOR MADE CONGRESS LUNCH

Food and paper waste are reduced by allowing each participant to assemble his/her own lunch. Help us reduce waste, think twice and pick your favorite items only. The Messe Frankfurt is using sustainable products for everything to do with food and beverages, based on the EU-compliant implementation of the plastic ban on disposable tableware. 

CONGRESS LANYARDS

Our congress lanyards are made of polyester fiber from recycled PET bottles. This fabric efficiently conserves natural resources and reduce the burden on the natural environment, which is important to EHA. Leave them on dedicated areas for recycle on departure. They are 80% made with renewable energy sourced of solar panels from European production.

PUBLIC TRANSPORT TICKETS OFFERED 

In order to reduce CO2 emissions on their daily commute to and from the Congress center, Public Transport Tickets are available for all registered Congress participants, courtesy of the Frankfurt Convention Bureau.

PROPER WASTE MANAGEMENT

Messe Frankfurt is equipped with bins that allow for waste separation and recycling. More than 90% of the waste will be recycled. We encourage our delegates to use them accordingly when disposing waste.

SUSTAINABLE CARPET

EHA is using sustainable “Rewind” carpet at the Congress, which is the only carpet that has a silver cradle-to-cradle certification in the world.

LUFTHANSA SUSTAINABLE AVIATION FUEL CERTIFICATE   

Lufthansa Group awards EHA European Hematology Association as CLIMATE SUPPORTER for journeys of employees of EHA. The CO2 emissions resulting from the combustion of jet fuel have been offset with Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) on flights operated by the following Lufthansa Group Airlines: Austrian Airlines, Brussels Airlines, Lufthansa and SWISS. Herewith, EHA European Hematology Association has helped to accelerate the progress towards a more sustainable future.
