Grants & abstract awards

EHA Travel Grants

The call for travel grant applications will be open from January 1, 2025 until March 1, 2025 (23:59 CET).

New: Grant applications have been integrated into the EHA2025 Abstract Submission form. Please indicate that you wish to apply for a grant in the abstract submission form and provide all the necessary details in the form. Click here to submit your abstract and grant application as of January 1, 2025.

The grants will only be available for investigators with accepted abstracts, submitted during the regular abstract submission. Travel Grants are intended to support young investigators; therefore, applicants should be 36 years of age or younger. A number of Travel Grants have been reserved for abstract authors from countries with lower and lower/middle-incomes.

  • Travel grants provide complimentary registration and € 500 for travel arrangements for the upcoming EHA Hybrid Congress.

Travel grant applications will be reviewed based on the following criteria:

  • You have applied for a junior membership with EHA by March 1, 2025.
  • Your junior membership fee has been paid by March 6, 2025.
  • You are the first, presenting and submitting author of a submitted abstract.

Note: Current winners of EHA Research Grants, CRTH, TRTH programs and/or recipient of an EHA2025 VIP package are not eligible to receive a Travel & Participation grant. View EHA's policy on double awarding here.

The Scientific Program Committee (SPC) will decide, according to the abstract scores, which abstract receives a Travel Grant. This will be announced to the submitting author together with their abstract allocation by email by April 24, 2025.

Any questions regarding the criteria, the application or procedure can be directed to travelgrants@ehaweb.org.

Young EHA Best Abstract Award

Awards

One of the primary missions of the European Hematology Association is to support young hematology clinicians and researchers. Therefore at EHA2022 we launched the Young EHA Best Abstract Awards. These are awarded to the highest ranking abstracts in the following four categories: Clinicians or medical students training for a PhD degree, PhD research students, postdoctoral fellows and clinical hematology trainees. Winners will present their abstracts at the Congress during a special session - it is our honor to welcome these Young EHA trainees– they are the future of Hematology. The Award consists of € 500 and free registration to the next congress of EHA.

Please note that this award does not require an application procedure. The selection is made by the Scientific Program Committee and Advisory Board based on the highest ranking abstracts.
