Publication of EHA Annual General Meeting 2024 minutes
The 2024 EHA Annual General Meeting (AGM) took place in the vibrant city of Madrid, Spain, on June 14, 2024. Scheduled on Friday during the EHA Annual Congress, the meeting was once more in a hybrid format. Thanks to a combination of physical and virtual attendees, we attracted a larger number of members in comparison to previous years.
During the AGM, EHA members have the opportunity to vote on significant issues concerning EHA's development and governance, gain insights into achievements over the past year, hear about upcoming plans, and actively influence the direction of EHA. Prof Antonio Almeida, EHA President, provided a summary of the Annual Report for 2023, highlighting EHA's achievements and successes. The financial report for 2023, led by Martin Dreyling, Treasurer, highlighted the balance sheet, statement of income, and expenses. The 2023 financial statements and the 2024 budget were approved by the members.
Martina Muckenthaler, Chair of the Nomination Committee, presented the election results for the EHA Board 2024-2028. Prof Lucia de Franceschi and Prof Evangelos Terpos were appointed as new councilors, and Prof Kirsten Grønbæk was re-elected as Secretary of the Executive Board. Members approved the new Board members and the Executive Board member. Prof Almeida said farewell to outgoing Board members Profs Mariane de Montalembert and Hermann Einsele. During the ‘Looking Forward’ component of the agenda, Prof Almeida shared EHA's new vision statement and visual identity, emphasizing global connection, innovative ideas, and a vibrant future for EHA ending it with powerful quote: "The future belongs to those who prepare for it today."
