EHA-JSH Travel Grant
Financial support to help EHA members under 40 attend the Japanese Society of Hematology's Annual Meeting in October 2024.
As part of our constructive partnership with the Japanese Society of Hematology (JSH), we're delighted to announce a new initiative for young researchers in hematology.
If you're an EHA member who's under 40, an EHA-JSH Travel Grant could enable you to:
- Attend the next JSH Annual Meeting
- Make connections with researchers outside of Europe
- Share your research with new audiences
What the grant provides
The grant consists of:
- Free registration for JSH's 86th Annual Meeting, which will take place in Kyoto, Japan, from October 11–13, 2024
- An award of €1,500
Eligibility
General criteria
To apply for the grant, you must be:
- Under 40 at the time of JSH's Annual Meeting in October 2024
- An EHA member who paid their 2024 membership fee before March 1, 2024
- Carrying out research in Europe
Abstract requirement
A specific condition of the grant is that you must present an abstract during JSH's Annual Meeting
If your application is successful, you'll receive the €1,500 award after you've delivered this presentation.
How to apply
Documents that you'll need to source or prepare
As part of your application, you'll need to provide:
- A letter of recommendation from your head of department
- An abstract for the JSH Annual Meeting
- A list of achievements
To make sure that your abstract is eligible, you should read JSH's guidance on abstracts from overseas.

Once you've sourced and prepared all of your documents, you can complete our online form. You can upload your documents during this step.
The call for applications has closed.
What happens after you apply
After the application deadline, EHA representatives will:
- Review your application, including its supporting documents
- Ensure that JSH receives a copy of your abstract
They'll then select up to five awardees. If you're one of these awardees, you'll receive an email from EHA no later than May 31, 2024.
