Policy on life events
EHA has a policy on life events and eligibility. If you're submitting a grant application and the policy applies to your circumstances, you can ask us to extend the period of eligibility.
Pregnancy and children
For each child/pregnancy:
- A mother can add 18 months to the time since PhD graduation
- A father can add three months to the time since PhD graduation
Other life events
We can also extend the eligibility period due to other life events. This might be:
- Military service
- Disease
- Lab closure
- Another type of life event
In all cases, you'll need to provide a justification.
