YoungEHA Mentorship Mixer at EHA2024
Hosted by the YoungEHA Committee, the Mentorship Mixer is a pilot event for a potential EHA mentorship program. Unlike existing programs, this new ‘Mentorship and Career Development Program’ will focus on career-related issues rather than scientific or clinical trial projects.
The informal mixer event will be held as part of the EHA2024 Congress in Madrid. It's an opportunity for a small group of early career mentees to meet with more experienced members of the EHA community and:
- Expand their networks
- Explore the setting up of more formal mentorship connections
- Seed mentor-mentee interactions that can be taken forward into the coming year
Event details
The YoungEHA Mentorship Mixer will take place on Saturday, June 15, 2024, from 11:30 to 12:30 (CEST).
It will be held in the membership lounge of the Recinto Ferial venue, in Madrid, Spain.
If you're selected to take part, the YoungEHA team will send you more detailed instructions by email.
Call for mentors
The YoungEHA Committee are looking for mid-career and senior-level EHA members who are interested in:
- Becoming a mentor at the mixer
- Helping with the development of the new mentoring program
They're particularly keen to involve:
- Active EHA members who are members of the Board, a committee, or a specialized working group (SWG)
- Alumni of existing EHA training programs

Call for mentees
If you're a potential early career mentee, you can also apply to attend the mixer.
In total, 20 mentees will be selected and invited to take part in this special event.
Reimbursement of EHA2024 costs
Up to ten mentees will be reimbursed for:
- conference registration
- travel costs—up to €300
In order to receive this reimbursement, mentees must provide evidence that they would otherwise have been unable to attend.
How to apply
You do not need to be an EHA member to apply to be a potential mentee. However, if you're successful, you'll be expected to become a junior EHA member before the event.

You can also use the application form above if you're interested in becoming a mentee but are unable to attend EHA2024. In this case, you just need to indicate that:
- You're interested in becoming a mentee as part of the new program
- You cannot attend the Madrid event
