EHA collaborates with THD to provide critical aid to hematologists
The Hague (Netherlands), June 23, 2023. The European Hematology Association (EHA) is proud to announce its partnership with the Türk Hematoloji Derneği (THD) in a joint effort to support hematologists working in earthquake-affected areas in Türkiye and Syria. EHA has extended financial support to facilitate the provision of essential temporary shelters and equipment, ensuring the well-being and effectiveness of medical professionals in the region.
In response to an urgent appeal from the Turkish Hematology Society, EHA issued another coalition to deliver life-saving infrastructures to address another humanitarian crisis in the world caused by a natural disaster. EHA will send twelve adapted modular containers as temporary, fully-equipped shelters, which are essential to prevent relapse and continue treatment for hematological malignancies. These purpose-built units are tailored to the specific needs of hematologists and include self-sufficient electricity and water installations. On behalf of all those whose hematological lives are at imminent risk, we reiterate our call for humanitarian access without further delay.
