The European Hematology Association (EHA) is deeply concerned about the situation in Ukraine, the plight of the civilian population, and the damage to healthcare infrastructures. As hospitals and patients are impacted severely by the war, EHA expresses its solidarity with hematologists and their patients in Ukraine.

We applaud efforts by the international community, in particular the European Union, the WHO Europe, the UN Refugee Agency, and the International Red Cross, to provide emergency support and protection to all who suffer from the conflict. Restoration of peace is urgently needed so that healthcare providers, including hematologists, can resume care for their patients in safe and secure circumstances throughout Ukraine.

EHA will provide assistance to Ukrainian hematologists and patients where possible, both within and outside of Ukraine’s borders, in coordination with national hematology societies, patient organizations and our partners in the BioMed Alliance and European Cancer Organisation.

Additionally, EHA will be also be offering Ukrainian hematologists free access to all its upcoming meetings (in 2022), as well as the EHA2022 Hybrid Congress.
