The Fellowships and Grants Committee (F&GC) is responsible for ‘funding the future of hematology’ by assigning EHA funding to talented researchers.
The F&GC serves as an advisory body to the EHA Research Committee and works closely with the EHA Office and other EHA committees.
Responsibilities
We review and select winners for:
- EHA Research Grants
- EHA Research Mobility Grants
- The EHA-JSH Joint Fellowship Exchange Program
In doing so, we:
- Are transparent regarding relationships with applicants, their mentors, their institutes, collaborators, and competitors
- Develop and follow guidance given for review
- Follow guidance given for interviewing candidates, focused on quality
- Responding to requests for review in a timely manner
- Participate in conference calls about the selection and review of applications
- Review reports of grantees
- Provide input for the Research Committee on developments in basic and translational research in hematology that might require support by EHA
Composition
We’re comprised of the following:
- A Chair (EHA Board member)
- A Vice-Chair (non-Board member)
- Up to eight regular members
Rotation
The Chair and Vice-Chair serve for a maximum of three years.
EHA Board members serve for a maximum of four years.
Regular members serve for three years with the possibility of one reappointment.
Meetings
In a typical year, our members take part in:
- An interview meeting
- Regular teleconferences
