EHA2026 travel grants & abstract awards

Applications for travel grants will open from
January 1,
2026 until March 1, 2026.

The grants will only be available for investigators with accepted abstracts, submitted during the regular abstract submission. Travel Grants are intended to support young investigators; therefore, applicants should be 36 years of age or younger. A number of Travel Grants have been reserved for abstract authors from countries with lower and lower/middle-incomes.

  • Travel grants provide complimentary registration and €500 for travel arrangements for the upcoming EHA Congress.

Travel grant applications will be reviewed based on the following criteria:

  • You are the first, presenting and submitting author of a submitted abstract.

Note: Current winners of EHA Research Grants, CRTH, TRTH programs and/or recipient of an EHA2026 VIP package are not eligible to receive a Travel & Participation grant. View EHA’s policy on double awarding here.

The Scientific Program Committee (SPC) will decide, according to the abstract scores, which abstract receives a Travel Grant. This will be announced to the submitting author together with their abstract allocation by email by April 24, 2026.

Any questions regarding the criteria, the application or procedure can be directed to travelgrants@ehaweb.org.

One of our primary missions is to support the future of hematology by nurturing young hematology clinicians and researchers.

One way that we achieve this is through the Young EHA Best Abstract Award.

Each year, the SPC allocates awards to the highest-ranking abstracts from:

  • Clinicians or medical students training for a PhD degree
  • PhD research students
  • Postdoctoral fellows
  • Clinical hematology trainees

The award consists of free registration to next year’s Congress and €500 to cover attendance expenses.

You do not have to register or apply to be eligible for the award. The SPC and Advisory Board will make a selection based on the highest-ranking abstracts within the specific categories.
