The European Hematology Association (EHA) is delighted to announce to the conference and meeting community the outcome of its Core PCO Invitation To Tender (ITT). EHA looks forward to a new era with its newly appointed partner INTERPLAN for the next three Congress editions in 2023, 2024 and 2025.

Following a rigorous ITT timeframe, which commenced in September, the initial Request for Information (RFI) was released mid-October to seek interest from qualified PCOs. This was followed by the issuance of the formal Invitation To Tender (ITT) to preselected PCO’s in early November.

Mr Rik Craenmehr, Head of Congress & Meetings of the European Hematology Association, said

“We are delighted with the outcome of a highly technical process and express our heartiest congratulations to INTERPLAN as new PCO Partner.

We received an excellent response from a selection of PCOs of an extremely high caliber, all of whom were professional and capable to deliver to our needs. We commend the efforts, support and engagement demonstrated by all of them, and we wish to express our heartfelt appreciation to each of them.

After a stringent evaluation process, it came down to the organizational fit and the ability to evaluate and align the PCO’s capabilities, focus and approach to match those of EHA at the present. We need a strong convergence and balance between where the EHA Congress model is currently at, and where it aspires to be. INTERPLAN will play a crucial role in how we move forward in a very volatile and constantly transforming global landscape. We aim to learn, grow and advance together, with EHA at the forefront”.

Dr Markus Preussner, Managing Director Interplan, said "At Interplan we are tremendously proud and honored to have been appointed by EHA as the new core PCO. Right from the start, our entire team was on fire for this project. We consider it as an exceptional opportunity to support one of the leading European congresses and we are convinced that EHA and Interplan are a perfect match with the common goal of a successful partnership."

EHA will commence with an onboarding process for their newly appointed PCO early next year, leading into the upcoming EHA2022 Congress, in partnership and collaboration with their current PCO, MCI The Netherlands, with whom the EHA Congress planning is already underway.

EHA would like to acknowledge the long standing and very valuable partnership with its current PCO MCI The Netherlands, whom they have known and worked with for the past 20 years, and who have done an  tremendous job. EHA is immensely proud of our collaboration with them and of all the years of fruitful and successful partnership in delivering EHA Annual Congress.

With the adoption of a new procurement regime EHA embarked on the ITT process having had a delay due to the Covid-19 Pandemic. It has been a period of transformation for EHA and the Congress overall, and the Association is looking forward to drawing on the knowledge of the past to inform our congress model of the future.

The EHA2022 Hybrid Congress will be organized from June 9 to 12, 2022 in the Messe Wien Exhibition & Congress Center, in Vienna, Austria, live streamed into the virtual platform; and will continue virtually from June 15 to 17, 2022 during the Thematic Days in the virtual platform. EHA is the largest Europe-based organization connecting hematologists worldwide to support career development and research, harmonize hematology education, and advocate for hematologists and hematology. It is a non-governmental and not-for-profit membership organization that is guided by its mission to promote excellence in patient care, research, and education in hematology.

EHA holds an annual congress to facilitate that mission and to connect hematologists worldwide.
