Job description

As Head of Education a.i., you will be responsible for the day-to-day supervision and guidance of a highly engaged team responsible for delivering education within EHA. You ensure timely and high-quality delivery of educational formats and materials for hematologists and researchers. Medical writing is part of the core activities of the education department within EHA. You coordinate educational requests across EHA and ensure the educational strategy is executed, after approval of committees and the board.  

 You are a team player, and like to connect and work with different stakeholders, nationalities and professions. You can easily adapt to different situations. 

You have a background in either medical writing, preferably hematology and medical education. You have a genuine interest in medical education and are a natural people leader. 

Main Responsibilities:

People Management

  • Daily supervision of a team of educational professionals, medical writers, and instructional designer

  • Cross functional collaboration with peers, suppliers, and stakeholders

Education Strategy

  • Ensure up-to-date knowledge and able to provide input in hematological medical treatment practices 

  • Drive education towards a forward-looking experience, and adapt ways of learning for different learner profiles 

  • Drive the educational strategy and act on this with committees and sponsors 

  • Evaluate and make data-driven decisions on educational content, formats and content

  • Salary range 5.500 – 7.800 euro gross per month (based on 40 hours/week). 

Job requirements

  • Minimum 8 years in a people management position (at least 3 direct reports) within the medical or education sector  

  • A relevant PhD or MD degree

  • Highly proficient in English, and professional medical English 

  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills 

  • Knowledge of Dutch labor law (for employers) 

  • Experience in either medial membership associations or healthcare/pharmaceutical sector  

  • Knowledge of sponsorship for education or knowledge within Pharma for dissemination of knowledge 

  • Strong strategic thinking and able to communicate strategy to different stakeholders 

  • Proven project management skills 

  • High attention to detail and accuracy 

  • Knowledge of applicable regulations for education and/or compliance for pharma sponsoring 

  • Preferably member of European Medical Writers Association
