Get the spark you need to fire up a career in hematology. Join our free training program for medical students, interns, and residents who have not yet chosen a specialty.

What the program offers
Lighting the Flame is an engaging program of online lessons and real-life sessions that can help you start your journey into hematology.
By joining our program, you’ll get:
- A practical understanding of what being a hematologist involves
- Guidance that will give you a head start in the field
Participants who complete the full program can access:
- Information on clinical training and research in hematology in European countries
- Guidance and support from EHA hematologists and researchers
- An online campus with a variety of workshops on hematology
- A wide range of live online trainings in hematology
- In-person learning retreats with the top authorities in the area

Who can join
You can join our free program if you’re a medical student, intern, or resident who is:
- Not yet sure about your field of specialty
- Interested in learning more about working as a clinical hematologist or researcher (basic or translational research)
There’s no obligation to complete the program. If you decide that hematology is not for you, you can leave at any point.
