Mission and vision
Welcome to the European Hematology Association (EHA).
- We have a vision to transform the future of hematology in Europe and beyond its borders.
- We believe that hematology research, as well as education and treatment, are shared resources. This means they should be accessible to everyone, wherever they may be in the world.
- We’re here to mobilize the community, share knowledge, and connect interests to advocate for hematology.
Together, we’ll advance towards prevention, a cure, and improved quality of life. Empowering progress, knowledge, and partnership.
This is Borderless Hematology.
Our history
“Towards prevention, cure, and quality of life for all patients with blood disorders”.
EHA was:
- Conceptualized in 1987
- Launched in 1990
- Formally established in 1992
Over the years, initiatives led by our association and members have positioned us at the forefront of hematology in Europe. Progress in education, training, research support, and patient care have helped to further advance this specialty, so vital to our health.
We’re a global network, and we actively collaborate with national and international medical associations and societies, and with European authorities to further hematology interests.
How we’re organized
The EHA Board, with 15 members, is responsible for the overall direction of the association.
