General eligibility criteria

You’re eligible if:

  • You’re an EHA member
  • Your institute is an academic research center or proven equivalent in Europe
  • You have the support of an academic department and institute
  • Your application relates to basic and translational lab-based research in hematology

Your application will not be eligible if it relates to:

  • Purely clinical research projects
  • Projects in health economics
  • Other non-lab-based research

However, it may be eligible if it relates to the translational part of a clinical trial. In this case, it must be both relevant and novel.

Each one of the three types of EHA Research Grant also has its own specific eligibility criteria. Please make sure you read this before you apply.

Topic-In-Focus Research Grant

If your research focuses on hemoglobinopathies or precision hematology, you can apply for a version of the EHA Research Grant known as a Topic-In-Focus Research Grant.

Ensuring our whole community benefits

We’ve earmarked up to two grants across all categories for researchers based in specific countries. You can see a full list of these countries on our page about extending the reach of EHA Research Grants.
