The Education Committee (EC) promotes excellence in education for hematologists and related healthcare professionals—across Europe and beyond.  

We do this by offering high quality learning programs: 

  • Online 
  • Via in-person meetings  
  • Via blended methods 

The main aim of all our programs, activities, and actions is to harmonize hematology education. 

The EC serves as an advisory body to the EHA Board and works closely with the EHA Office and other EHA committees. 

Composition

We’re comprised of the following: 

  • A Chair 
  • A Vice-Chair 
  • The EHA President 
  • An EHA Board member 
  • The Chair of the Curriculum Committee 
  • The Chair of the Global Outreach Committee 
  • The Chair of EBAH 
  • An SWG Committee member 
  • A Young EHA member 
  • An EHA Campus member 
  • An Online Case Unit member 
  • Three regular members 

Rotation

The Chair and Vice Chair serve for a maximum of three years. 

The EHA President serves for a maximum of two years. 

Members representing the Board, a committee, or a sub-committee serve according to that body’s rotation schedule. 

Regular members serve for a maximum of three years with the possibility of one reappointment. 

Meetings

In a typical year, our members take part in: 

  • Three in-person meetings 
  • Regular conference calls 

They also participate in a retreat that’s held every one or two years.
