Research Committee

What we do

The Research Committee (RC) is responsible for strengthening EHA’s interactions with and relevance for the wider hematology research community. We achieve this by improving existing activities and developing new initiatives.  

The RC serves as an advisory body to the EHA Board and works closely with the EHA Office and other EHA committees.

Responsibilities

Coordinate, integrate, and promote research activities (basic, translational, and clinical) across all EHA initiatives. If you’d like to get involved or share suggestions, please reach out to research@ehwaeb.org.

The RC is organized into subgroups that deal with the topics of research support, training.

The RC oversees the committees responsible for the above initiatives, and provides input to European Affairs, Young EHA, the annual EHA Congress, the EHA journal, and for research projects with EHA participation.

The RC defines the plan and budget for research activities of EHA, for discussion and approval by the EHA Board, and monitors the implementation of the approved plans and programs

 

Composition

The RC is comprised of a Chair, a Vice-Chair and up to 12 members.

The RC includes representatives of EHA Board, SWG Committee, Fellowships and Grants Committee, Research Trainings, HemaSphere, and Young EHA.

Rotation

All members serve for three years with the possibility of one reappointment.

Meetings

In a typical year, the RC members take part in:

  • An in-person meeting at the EHA office
  • An in-person meeting at the EHA Congress
  • Regular conference calls
