Cancer Medicines Forum workshop April 5: a way forward for treatment optimization
The Cancer Medicines Forum (CMF) is hosted by the European Medicines Agency (EMA) in collaboration with the European Organisation for Research and Treatment of Cancer (EORTC). It provides a structural platform for dialogue between regulators and academic organizations, with EHA as the voice of hemato-oncology.
The forum aims to advance the optimization of cancer treatments, and to contribute to high standards of cancer care in Europe, by:
- Identifying key research questions and the best methodological approaches to improve the clinical use of cancer medicines;
- Discussing the uptake of academic work in the wider context of regulatory decision-making in oncology.
The CMF will report its observations and discuss proposed/preliminary solutions at a hybrid workshop, organized under the auspices of the Belgian presidency.
The workshop will take place on April 5, 2024. Multiple stakeholders will gather to discuss the progress report of the work of the CMF on cancer treatment optimization. Prof Martin Kaiser, member of EHA’s European Affairs Committee, will present an example of development and optimization challenges from hematology.
