Tutorial on acute leukemia held in Istanbul
EHA and the Turkish Society of Hematology (TSH) partnered for the seventh time to organize a tutorial. Thirty-seven fellows of the TSH learned more about acute leukemia during the EHA-TSH Tutorial on Acute Leukemia held on April 28-29, 2018 in Istanbul, Turkey. The tutorial was part of the Turkish School of Hematology, a training program for Turkish fellows in hematology.
This two-day meeting aimed to deepen the knowledge of participants on diagnosis and treatment of a variety of acute leukemias.
The participants went home with additional knowledge on:
- the epidemiology and treatment of pediatric and adult acute leukemia,
- diagnosis and prognosis of acute leukemia, and
- diagnosis and management of acute leukemia.
This was made possible through lectures, interactive self-assessment cases and real patient case-based presentations. Each session was presented by one faculty member who took the audience through all three presentation types. Coffee breaks and lunches were an opportunity for informal discussion between the fellows and (international) faculty.
“EHA-TSH tutorial was an informative experience for myself and was very fruitful meeting for the audience who gave us feedback.” - Prof.Dr. M Sayitoğlu
The main topics discussed were:
