This grant is suitable for researchers in the field of hemoglobinopathies with a focus on sickle cell disease.
Topic-in-Focus Grant Precision Hematology
This grant is suitable for researchers whose focus is on translational science in malignant hematology—to address urgent medical needs in rare diseases with precision medicine approaches.
It’s designed to promote innovative concepts for diagnostics and clinical trial designs—with a concrete view to translation into clinical application in precision hematology.
Proposals should aim to achieve at least one of the following:
- Establish new principles or platforms to define biomarkers that may guide treatment interventions
- Develop methodologies for assessing new functional and/or predictive biomarkers with the goal of guiding treatment interventions
- Undertake pilot biomarker studies within a clinical trial to evaluate biomarker effectiveness
This grant will not fund proposals on:
- Molecular profiling of disease entities for classification or stratification
- Validating established diagnostic methodologies
- Performing molecular, functional, or other systematic (proteomics, metabolomics, dependency mapping) screenings
