Topic-In-Focus Bilateral Collaborative Grant
A Topic-In-Focus Bilateral Collaborative Grant is a separate category of Bilateral Collaborative Grant suitable for researchers whose project focus relates to precision hematology.
The purpose of the grant is to promote innovative concepts for diagnostics and clinical trial designs—with a concrete view to translation into clinical application.
This grant is suitable for researchers whose focus is on translational science in malignant hematology—to address urgent medical needs in rare diseases with precision medicine approaches.
Eligibility of applicants
The requirements for applicants are the same as for the EHA Bilateral Collaborative Grants.
Eligible proposals
To be eligible, a proposal should aim to achieve at least one of the following:
- Establish new principles or platforms to define biomarkers that may guide treatment interventions
- Develop methodologies for assessing new functional and/or predictive biomarkers with the goal of guiding treatment interventions
- Undertake pilot biomarker studies within a clinical trial to evaluate biomarker effectiveness.
We cannot fund proposals on:
- Molecular profiling of disease entities for classification or stratification
- Validating established diagnostic methodologies
- Performing molecular, functional, or other systematic (proteomics, metabolomics, dependency mapping) screenings.

- Follow the normal steps to apply for an EHA Bilateral Collaborative Grant
- During the application process, select the ‘Topic-in-Focus’ version of the grant
