Patient organizations
EHA partners with patient organizations across different specialisms and disciplines. We work with them in a range of areas, including:
- Joint advocacy on policy and regulatory topics
- Sharing advice on scientific and educational activities
We place great value on these partnerships, and one highly visible result is the prominent place that EHA-Patient Joint Symposium has at the annual EHA Congress.
We currently partner with 14 European or international umbrella patient organizations that have a strong focus on hematologic diseases.
Alignment on issues of common concern and coordination of activities currently takes place via the EHA Patient Organizations Workgroup, which has two representatives on our European Affairs Committee.
In 2021, to ensure that the voice of patients is heard throughout our organization, we established a formal Patient Advocacy Committee.
