The new EU clinical trials map is online

A new clinical trial map was launched by EMA as part of the Clinical Trials Information System (CTIS) on March 3. The platform provides healthcare professionals and patients with easy, comprehensive, and real-time access to information about clinical trials in the EU.

The map

The map — a deliverable of the ACT EU initiative, in which EHA is an active stakeholder — is a welcome tool that improves the findability of clinical trials and facilitates potential enrolment enquiries. For that purpose, the search results also provide the investigator's contact information. Searches in lay language are supported, and trials can be found by medical condition or geographic location.

The Clinical Trials Regulation

The map builds on the public information included in the CTIS, a system allowing interaction between sponsors and regulatory authorities, as foreseen by the Clinical Trials Regulation (CTR). This legislation became fully applicable on January 31, 2025, and harmonizes the clinical trial application and supervision processes, as well as their public registration.

You can find more information on the legislation and our involvement on EHA’s webpage on clinical trials.
