Specialized Working Group on Aging and Hematology
The Aging and Hematology SWG’s goal is to share knowledge among physicians and researchers within the field. By maintaining high common standards and promoting networking opportunities to interested parties, we’ll shape the future of geriatric hematology.
Our priorities
- Sharing clinically useful tools in assessing frailty and comorbidities in older adults with hematologic malignancies.
- Facilitating access to guidance documents, whether they’re created by us or by other national, European, and international organizations.
- Developing guidelines and recommendations in uncovered and underserved topics. These include cardiovascular complications in older adults undergoing therapy for hematologic malignancies and management of antineoplastic agents in patients with renal impairment. Also included is the recognition of cognitive disfunction in older adults with hematologic malignancies.
