EHA Clinical Excellence Award
The EHA Clinical Excellence Award is awarded for an extraordinary achievement or commitment to the clinical or clinical research field.
The nominated person must have:
- Made a valuable contribution to the field of hematology
- Shown dedication to their work and commitment to furthering the field of hematology
- Been responsible for pioneering and innovative work in the clinical or clinical research field
This award was formerly known as the David Grimwade Award.
2026 winner
The 2026 winner of the EHA Clinical Excellence Award is Prof Josep-Maria Ribera (Spain).
Prof Ribera has had a distinguished career as a senior consultant and professor as well as a pivotal role in national and European cooperative groups. His efforts have significantly advanced diagnostic and treatment protocols for hematologic malignancies. Through extensive academic contributions, mentorship of future specialists, and active participation in international scientific committees, Prof Ribera has shaped the field of hematology and improved patient outcomes worldwide.
