EHA Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) Award

The EHA Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) Award is awarded for an achievement or commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion and demonstrating DEI principles​.

The nominated person must have:

  • Made a valuable contribution to the field of hematology
  • Shown dedication to their work and commitment to furthering the field of hematology​
  • Been responsible for pioneering and innovative work in DEI in the field of hematology​

2026 winner

The 2026 winner of the EHA Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) Award is Prof Gianluca Gaidano (Italy).

Beyond scientific achievements, Prof Gaidano has championed equitable access to research and patient care, ensuring advances in hematology benefit diverse populations. Through active participation in European research networks and fostering international collaborations, he has created opportunities for patients and professionals from varied backgrounds. His inclusive approach demonstrates how science and collaboration can bridge differences.
