Selection panel and principles

The EHA Awards selection process is designed to recognize excellence in a fair, transparent, and representative way. Each nomination is reviewed by a selection panel composed of representatives from across EHA’s committees, task forces, Board, and community groups.

The panel’s role is to review eligible nominations, assess candidates against the relevant award criteria, and support a fair and consistent selection process.

The selection panel brings together members from across EHA committees, task forces, the EHA Board, and community groups to ensure that nominations are assessed from different perspectives and areas of expertise.

This broad representation helps ensure that nominees are considered from multiple perspectives, reflecting the diversity of expertise, experience, and contribution within the hematology community.

General principles

The EHA Awards selection process is guided by fairness, transparency, and recognition of meaningful contributions to the hematology community.

  • All eligible nominations are reviewed by the selection panel.
  • Nominees are assessed against the criteria of the relevant award category.
  • Voting is conducted through an independent online system.
  • The nominee with the highest number of votes in each category is proposed as the award recipient.
  • Final award recommendations are submitted to the EHA Executive Board for approval.
  • Award recipients are invited to accept their award at the EHA2027 Congress.
