Abstract and clinical case procedure

Please note that the submission of an abstract constitutes a formal commitment by the presenting author to present the abstract (if accepted) orally or as a poster in the session at the time assigned by the Scientific Program Committee (SPC). In order to be able to present your abstract at the meeting, you will need to be registered for the meeting.

The abstracts and clinical cases submitted via the submission process will be reviewed and allocated by the Scientific Program Committee. The abstract submission will be open soon. Submitting authors will be informed about the allocation by February 20, 2025. Topics

You can submit an abstract or clinical case on one of the following topics:

  1. Germ-line and acquired predisposition to sAML
  2. Clonal progression from other myeloid diseases (BM-failure s., MDS, MPN)
  3. sAML development as a result of cancer treatment (after chemotherapy, CAR-T, gene therapy)
  4. Genetic characteristics of sAML
  5. Treatment of sAML
  6. Allogeneic stem cell transplantation (donor-derived sAML)

Submission specifications

  • Title count: max. 300 characters incl. space.
  • Character limit: 3500 characters (incl. spaces, punctuation, and headers in the template).
  • Please use the following subheadings: Background / Aims / Methods / Results / Summary - Conclusion
  • Images have to be submitted as JPEG, tif, or gif files: 
    • Due to limited space, only a simple graph/image can be submitted.
    • Images and graphs should reproduce well in black and white.
    • Image file should not exceed 500KB.
  • Authors: There is no limit to the number of authors.
  • References are obligatory when submitting an abstract 

Travel grants

Travel grants are only available for applications with accepted abstracts, submitted during the regular abstract submission period. Travel grants are intended to support young investigators; therefore, applicants should be 36 years of age or younger, and are reserved for abstract authors that are Junior EHA members.

The travel grant includes complimentary registration arranged by EHA for on-site attendance and a €500 compensation for travel arrangements (reimbursed after the meeting).

Travel grant applications will be reviewed based on the following criteria:

  • The applicant is 36 years of age or younger at the time of travel grant application.
  • The applicant is an EHA member or has applied for a Junior membership by February 10, 2025.
  • The membership fee has been paid by February 19, 2025.
  • The applicant is the first, presenting and submitting author of an accepted abstract

Application

The selection of travel grant recipients will be based on the abstract score, as determined by the meeting chairs. This will be announced to the submitting author together with their abstract allocation by email on February 20, 2025.
