Jon Salmanton-García
Jon Salmanton-García (Sodupe, 1990) is a postdoctoral researcher at University Hospital Cologne, Germany, specializing in studying and managing fungal and respiratory infections, particularly in immunocompromised patients.
Over the past few years, he has coordinated the EPICOVIDEHA registry, initiated by the EHA-SWG on Infections in Hematology. This focuses on the impact of respiratory viral infections in hematological patients, including those undergoing allogeneic hematopoietic stem cell transplantation and CAR T-cell therapy.
He has also led research on capacity mapping for diagnosing and treating fungal infections, examining the local features across different world regions.
Additionally, he has coordinated the DANGO study, which investigates the 2023–2024 dengue outbreak in Argentina, specifically among hematological patients.
