Abstract Submission & Travel Grant Application

Abstract Procedure

Please note that the submission of an abstract constitutes a formal commitment by the presenting author to present the abstract (if accepted) orally or as a poster in the session at the time assigned by the Scientific Program Committee (SPC). In order to be able to present your abstract at the meeting, you will need to be registered for the meeting.

The abstracts submitted via the regular submission process will be reviewed and allocated by the Scientific Program Committee. The regular abstract submission and late poster submission are now closed. Submitting authors will be informed about the allocation by July 18, 2024 for regular abstract submission and by August 12, 2024 for late poster submission. Submission Specifications

  • Title count: max. 300 characters incl. space.
  • Character limit: 3700 characters (incl. spaces, punctuation, and headers in the template).
  • Please use the following subheadings: Background / Aims / Methods / Results / Summary - Conclusion
  • Images have to be submitted as JPEG, tif, or gif files: 
    • Due to limited space, only a simple graph/image can be submitted.
    • Images and graphs should reproduce well in black and white.
    • Image file should not exceed 500KB.
  • Authors: There is no limit to the number of authors.
  • References are obligatory when submitting an abstract

Benefits & Award

Oral abstracts:

A short oral presentation during an assigned session (authors will be notified of the session date and time). The oral abstract presenters are eligible for a complimentary registration for this meeting. In addition, the best 3 oral abstracts, as selected by the Scientific Program Committee, will receive an award.

Poster flash talk:

Top ranking posters will be selected for a "flash talk" in addition to the physical poster on display. 

Poster abstracts:

Have a poster on display for the duration of the meeting and present their poster during the dedicated poster session. 

Travel grants

Travel grants are only available for applications with accepted abstracts, submitted during the regular abstract submission period. Travel grants are intended to support young investigators; therefore, applicants should be 36 years of age or young and are reserved for abstract authors from Junior EHA members and SfPM members.

The travel grant includes complimentary registration arranged by EHA for on-site attendance only and a €500 compensation for travel arrangements (reimbursed after the meeting).

Travel grant applications will be reviewed based on the following criteria:

  • The applicant is 36 years of age or younger at the time of travel grant application.
  • The applicant is an EHA member or has applied for a Junior membership by June 21, 2024, or a SfPM member.
  • The membership fee has been paid by June 28, 2024.
  • The applicant is the first, presenting and submitting author of an accepted abstract

Application

Travel grants application is now closed. 

The selection of travel grant recipients will be based on the abstract score, as determined by the reviewers. This will be announced to the submitting author together with their abstract allocation by email on July 18, 2024.
