Clinical Research Training in Hematology
The call for applications is now closed. The next call will open in late 2020.
What is Clinical Research Training in Hematology (CRTH)?
Through CRTH, EHA provides clinical researchers with a 9-month long unique training and mentoring experience focused on clinical research in Europe, with a global scope.
The scholars are mentored by top-tier experts in hematology research. The mentoring focuses on a problem the scholars see in daily practice and how it can be addressed with a sound protocol and clinical trial. Ethics, statistics, trial design, patient communications, protocol design and practical tips and tricks are discussed and shared. After participating in CRTH, scholars will have improved their skills and knowledge to benefit their work and career in clinical research in hematology, ultimately translating to improved patient care.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, EHA has been changing the format of many of its programs. Although we are all experiencing virtual meetings and have become adept to interacting online, we do not believe CRTH lends itself to a virtual format.
The CRTH program distinguishes itself from other events by its unique and personal mentorship aspect. The personal contact, conversations during lunch, coffee breaks, sitting next to each other at the seminar, are not replaceable by virtual meetings.
A new CRTH call for applications will open in late 2020 and close in January or February 2021. We understand some of you may be concerned about the expiration of your eligibility for the program. CRTH does not have strict eligibility criteria regarding time post-graduation. The target audience is defined as: You are a hematologist working at an academic center or a large community hospital that is known for running clinical trials. You have an interest in clinical science proven by either having been involved as a co-investigator, in (co-)developing clinical trial protocols and/or or by (co-) authorship of publications about clinical trials. You have a keen interest and experience in designing and executing clinical trials. You are looking for mentorship and want to achieve excellence as a clinical scientist.
