Granulocytes & Constitutional Marrow Failures Disorders

The Specialized Working Group (SWG) on Granulocytes and Constitutional Marrow Failure Syndromes (G&CMFS) derives from the fusion of the formerly existing SWG on Granulocyte and Monocyte Disorders with other initiatives, grown within the EHA environment, related to Constitutional Marrow Failure Syndromes. These initiatives include the ribosome disorders group, the leukemia predisposition gene group and the group on Gaucher Disease.

The SWG aims to implement and divulge knowledge on this group of rare diseases and to endorse networking amongst different centers that are active in this area at the European level.

 In this view the SWG promoted during the COVID pandemic, recommendation:

  1. on how to handle the infections ( https://ehaweb.org/assets/Uploads/Recommendations-for-patients-with-chronic-neutropenia-and-CMFD-final.pdf);
  2. “Expert Opinions for COVID-19 vaccination in patients non-malignant hematologic diseases”:   https://ehaweb.org/covid-19/eha-statement-on-covid-19-vaccines/recommendations-for-covid-19-vaccination-in-patients-with-non-malignant-hematologic-diseases/ )

The SWG actively interacts through numerous initiatives ( guidelines, review, scientific papers) with Eunet – Innochron, CA 18233 – European Network for Innovative Diagnosis and Treatment of Chronic Neutropenias ( https://www.cost.eu/actions/CA18233/ )

The EHA Specialized Working Group (SWG) on Granulocytes & Constitutional Marrow Failures Disorders and the EHA-SWG on Bleeding and Thrombosis are pleased to collaborate on a new free webinar: "The interaction of von Willebrand factor with platelet glycoprotein Ib: pathological implications and clinical manifestations".

Join us online via Zoom to learn about the importance of von Willebrand factor (VWF) in various mechanisms focused on GPIba including platelet formation from megakaryocytes, managing disorders related to loss- and gain-of-function variants of GP1BA or VWF, and more.
