Goal of the meeting

This EHA & BMSH-led hematology tutorial on myeloproliferative neoplasms strives to enhance health care professional's understanding of the diseases group. The goal of the educational meeting is to create an environment of knowledge enhancing and as such aims to improve the treatment, diagnosis and public awareness of the diseases in the region, further encouraging early detection. By joining forces with the national societies from the Balkan countries long-term relations and international collaboration are fostered between individuals and organizations while educating the health care professionals and support their patients.

The meeting will take place in conjunction with the 9th National Symposium of "Young hematologists" organized by the Bulgarian Medical Society of Hematology (BMSH) from November 15-16, 2024.

Target audience

Physicians, clinicians, basic researchers, biologists, trainees, medical students from the Balkan region.

Program

The EHA-BMSH Balkan Hematology tutorial program is designed to help attendees better understand the diagnosis and treatment of myeloproliferative neoplasms. The program consists of international speakers and patient-based case examples from the region. The knowledge gained by attendees is then tested by the international speakers as well.

  • Myeloproliferative neoplasms (MPN)
  • Chronic Myelomonocytic Leukemia (CMML)
  • Primary myelofibrosis (PM)
  • Polycythemia vera (PV)
  • Essential thrombocythemia (ET)
  • Thrombosis in myeloproliferative neoplasms
