Abstract procedure

Please note that the submission of an abstract constitutes a formal commitment by the presenting author to present the abstract (if accepted) orally or as a poster in the session at the time assigned by the Scientific Program Committee (SPC). To be able to present your abstract at the meeting, you will need to be registered for the meeting.

The abstracts submitted via the submission process will be reviewed and allocated by the Scientific Program Committee. There are two deadlines for abstract submission of ReCon 2025, which are November 25, 2024 (23:59 CET) and January 8, 2025 (23:59 CET).

  • First abstract submission deadline - Oral and poster presentations 
    • Submission duration: June 17, 2024 – November 25, 2024 (23:59 CET)
    • The first submission deadline is on November 25, 2024 (23:59 CET), which the abstract submissions will be considered for oral or poster presentations
    • Authors will be informed about the allocation by December 6, 2024.
  • Second abstract submission deadline - Poster presentations only 
    • Submission duration: November 26, 2024 – January 8, 2025 (23:59 CET)
    • The second (final) submission deadline is on January 8, 2025 (23:59 CET), which the abstract submissions will only be considered for poster presentations
    • Authors will be informed about the allocation by January 17, 2025.

Presenters, both oral and poster, must be registered for ReCon 2025 and have the chance to register at the Early Registration Fee (until December 31, 2024). Presenters of an abstract accepted during the second round will receive a discount code to register for the meeting with Early Registration Fee; the discount code will expire on January 31, 2025 (23:59 CET).

Please select the most appropriate topic during the abstract submission:

  1. Novel RNA biology and epitranscriptomics
  2. Transcriptional control in hematopoiesis and hematological malignancies
  3. Consequences of mutations in chromatin regulators
  4. 3D chromatin architecture and nuclear organization
  5. Targeting chromatin regulators in hematology
  6. Non-coding genome

Submission specifications

  • Title count: max. 300 characters incl. space.
  • Character limit: 3500 characters (incl. spaces & punctuation / excl. headers in the template).
  • Please use the following subheadings: Background / Aims / Methods / Results / Summary - Conclusion
  • Images have to be submitted as JPEG or PNG files: 
    • Due to limited space, only a simple graph/image can be submitted.
    • Images and graphs should reproduce well in black and white.
    • Image files should not exceed 500KB.
  • Authors: There is no limit to the number of authors.
  • References are obligatory when submitting an abstract.

Benefits

Accepted abstracts receive the following benefits:

Oral abstracts: 

A short oral presentation during an assigned session (authors will be notified of the exact time and date, as well as other requirements), complimentary meeting registration, and 3 night's hotel accommodation. EHA will register the presenters and reserve the hotel accommodation for them. Presenters will be notified accordingly.

Poster abstracts:

Abstracts selected for a poster presentation will have the opportunity to have a poster on display for the duration of the meetings and present their poster during 2 dedicated poster sessions.

Awards

  • Top-ranking poster presentations will be selected for a 'pitch presentation' (in addition to the physical poster on display)
  • The best 3 poster presentations will receive a best poster award and complimentary registration for EHA Congress 2025

Journals

Editors of renowned journals are also invited to attend, giving abstract authors opportunities to promote and discuss their work further to an even broader audience.
